Bunded Fuel Tank Manufacturing Standards & Certifications
Our rectangular, horizontal, double skinned, above ground fuel storage tanks are manufactured to the highest standards and conform generally to BS799-5 : 2010 (Type J) and to recommendations made in ‘The Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) (Regulations) 2001 (PPG2-2004)’.
The tank is a totally enclosed bunded unit.
The inner tank provides for fuel storage whilst the outer tank forms a totally enclosed bund with a capacity of 110% of the inner tank contents.
BS799 -5 : 2010 states the material types, thickness and stiffening locations.

Materials used for Fuel Tanks
Material is certified (Mild steel to BSEN 10025(2004) S275 JR), and consumables are provided with a Certificate of Conformity.
Qualified and experienced welders and platers build the tanks and an air test is conducted to ensure there will be no leaks in service.
An inspection report is raised for each tank and signed off at the relevant stage, in conjunction with a job card.
Our storage tanks are rectangular, horizontal, double skinned, fully bunded, static tanks which are vented to atmosphere and are therefore not pressure vessels.
